An Outlet for Comments Banned or Censored from Conservative Sites.

Turns out both John Chiv and The Humboldt Consequential* have banned my long boring comments as they are too long and too boring and nobody wants to reach that junk anyway.

I don’t blame them, it’s good ideological housekeeping and it’s not a First Amendment issue as both sites are theirs to administer as they see fit.   (I just strongly disagree, but that is a rant for another day)

Here is my therapy/reaction/alternative.  I encourage anyone else who is having the same problem to either join me or create another site where we can all go to have voices of reason heard.

Because there is not two sides of the issue here.  We are talking about voices of reason which proprietors of conservative web sites cannot handle.

Here is the website:

Shhh! Not OK to Say (In Humboldt)

If you have any comments which are being censored you can post comments here on this blog or the one linked above and I’ll create a new post for it.

The theme is reason and good will.  No personal attacks etc.  Liberals and progressives can take the high ground on policy issues in my opinion.  We (almost) always have and always should.

Because Humboldt, the United States and the World depends on liberal democracies and an open, honest and fair dialog is the foundation of that desirable political order.

(Turns out I got a bit of the rant in after all.)

*It may be THC does not realize I currently can’t post due to a comment I had that had 3 links.  It may be WordPress automatically filters out all future posts once a multiple link comment has been sent.  We’ll see.

Proposed New Anon Policy

Anon’s, I want to give you a head’s up.

I appreciate your time and comments but I am hoping to initiate a new policy to help out the readers of your comments.

If you choose to post as a guest, WordPress will give you a generic avatar or gravitar instead of the unique and random one it gives to people who would like to at least use a consistent nom-de-plume.

I am a fan of being able to be somewhat anonymous (as anonymous as one can be in a small community).  However, it order to help define where people are coming from and to allow for accountability in one’s stances over time, not to mention trying to follow back and forths between numerous anons I would like to begin using the last three numbers of anon’s IP address to identify you to the reader.

So if you have a comment I would like to comment on I might reply “so anon xx.x, blah blah blah”.

At this point, this is up for debate.  If there are non anons that disagree – I’ll listen and possibly reconsider.

And I won’t start right away of course to give you a chance to argue against it with the same amount of anonymity you currently have if you choose to.  I’ll give one more heads up before changing the policy.

Btw, maybe this is what Sid Berg was talking about when he contended the HCDCC progressives were analogues to what lead to the NAZI’s.  Seriously, he wrote that, yesterday, it the T-S, check it out.

Miscellaneous Comment Thread Part 1

Since I have had the awful tendency to dominate discussions, I am opening this thread as a place to put my responses to conversations in other threads which might have gone on too long.  Case in point – a thread in Sohum Parlance.  Others are welcome to bring the conversation here too, of course.
