Celebrating Landing on a Comet, Part II

In case you missed it, here’s day two of home page NYT.com news from Rosetta and it’s lander Philae.

And here is a fun diversion based on the landing.  Half the fun was figuring out how it works, so I’ll leave it to you and if anyone is frustrated and can’t figure it out, I’ll tell you how to work it in the comment section later.

  1. For those curious and who might not have experienced the entire cartoon strip, which I believe was being created in real time as the lander touched down and harpooned us a comet, do the following.

Click on the image on the post which will take you to http://xkcd1446.org/#0 . Then click on the single arrow pointing right to move forward through the images. There are about 7 blank ones to begin the series. It’s pretty fun.

If you did not get the full experience the first time (like Mom 🙂 ) don’t worry you are not alone. There is even a wiki to explain all of xkcd’s comics. http://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php/1446:_Landing.
